The primary objective of this coast to coast road trip and these talks is to bring awareness of the problems, and to offer some solutions to the incarceration phase as well as re-entry. The public is often unaware of the unidentified social cost that reaches far beyond the simple incarceration costs, but profoundly impacts costs in the public sector related to the social services that will be provided to the children of incarcerated women, and then to the mothers and children upon release.
The second objective of the journey is to raise money for the construction of a model center designed by incarcerated women for a re-entry program that can be replicated by religious and secular organizations.
