I propose that young people, especially those that that are court mandated to group sessions having to do with alcohol drug abuse, HIV prevention and general "street smarts" would be susceptable to learning to meditate, and eventually even studying the dharma...especially if guided by someone who has spent time in prison and is now committed to "the path."

In my brief experience as both a forced participant in, and then a co leader for such groups I have a strong feeling hay meditation and the dharma, taught by the committed person would have a better chance at actually changing lives than any of the many group themes I've witnessed over the last few years.

I can explain more (about raising grant money, finding groups etc.) if anyone, with an ability to contribute, is interested. For me the best place, for personal reasons and possible helpful connections, would be NYC.

If you have any interest or any ideas, please let me know.

Thank you,
