Not entirely. I mean, loud-mouthed Americans abroad are generally complaining about the food, while loud-mouthed Muslims complain about the political system. The Muslims have more of a point, considering how broken our government is and the general degradation of spiritual values. It's just that they're willing to blow themselves up to change things, while Americans are willing to spend an entire foreign excursion at McDonald's because they're afraid of the local food.

Just like loud mothed Americans abroad?

Oddly enough, the fact that our military went into Afghanistan and Iraq is probably the best thing done to begin changing American perceptions about Muslims. It's sad that it had to be a war with so much violence and destruction to do it, but the war forced American soldiers into close proximity with Iraqi citizens. That's enough for change to start happening.

I'm not one to find silver-linings in storm-clouds, but as soldiers return they want to smoke out of hookahs, have some of the cuisine they sampled abroad. They'll know a little Arabic, which is all they need to start talking to most Muslims in this country. And they know that 99% of Muslims are just regular people. It's the loud-mouthed 1% that sour things.

I feel the same way. This moved me so much and I wish all Americans could see and shake up any mistaken ideas about people there.

I wish this sort of picture circulated more widely. I think it's the most wonderful thing I've seen in quite a while. Thank you.
