Thank you for your update! The best starts are often modest starts and it sounds to me like you're off to a good start. It is great that you have the Chaplain's support and you won't seem so "exotic" to the staff in a few weeks. The first time I volunteered at a hospice for homeless women, no one spoke to me or even looked at me at all, but I kept coming and two months later I was the favorite volunteer!
