- I work in HIV prevention justice and am a beginning bodhisattva. My work has educated me to the fact that the
U.S.has the highest rate of imprisonment of any country on the planet,thanks to decades of enforcement of misguided laws that criminalize people for drug use,sex work,undocumened
immigration and basic survival.Because these laws often target the poor and people of color, the epidemic of mass imprisonment devastates many of the same communities dealing
with a high burden of HIV/AIDS,accelerating the rate of new
infections.
