Infrequent Prisoner Contact

I have been corresponding with one of my prisoners now for three months.  I have sent 6 detailed lessons and 2 informal letters.  I also sent one book for his study.  But I have only received 2 letters from him, one being the initial introductory letter reply.  I was hoping for more contact and interest on his part.  Is this normal to only get 2 letters in 3 months of contact?  Or am I hoping for to much. DavidSee More

Tell us about yourself & your interest in prison dharma: (answer required) .
I am an ordained American Ch'an Buddhist Cleric, and teach both in our Centers and online using Skype plus Second Life technology. I also broadcast a weekly internet radio program on Buddhist related topics. I live “outside” the walls of a traditional monastery which brings a new meaning to engaged Buddhism. I say life is my monastery. I have been a probation officer for adults and youth and am very familiar with both State and Federal prison systems. I also have an interest in working inside the prison system to bring meditation practice, Buddhist studies, and body-mind practices to those that can truly benefit from a dedicated practice, and the art of human flourishing.
