"No question that 'The Four Agreements' is on my Top 10 list too. It's one of those books that I read every so often to reinforce its profound effect on me. I also bought the CD to travel with. The tenet 'don't take anything…"

Tell us about yourself & your interest in prison dharma: (answer required) .
I became a PDN dharma mentor in 2011 as I believed in the immense benefits of the program. I also volunteer with local hospice and with seniors in a pet therapy program. For several years, I volunteered at women's shelters, providing support to abused women and in other capacities.

I have always had a strong interest in incarceration, and after watching the documentary 'At the Death House Door', I commenced related reading. I have come to understand and appreciate that there is basic goodness in all beings, regardless of their life experiences or circumstances.

Hi Joanne, glad that you are checking Ajahn Chah out most of his stuff is available free on the net. One of his sayings I like the most is ' finding a tortoise with a mustache is difficult, so it is with finding peace. When the conditions in your heart are right peace will find you' one of my projects is to provide a broader range of material on audio cd for prisoners as many of them are illiterate or dont get conceptual stuff easily through text. We can only hand out manufactured CDs and not material burnt on by computer. So am looking for funding to manufacture a few runs of CDs. One of them would be something like 'buddhism and the wounded child' as 60% of inmates have been abused in some way as children, so dealing with that is critical for moving forward in th Dharma, another one would be a relaxation and meditation cd. Often they need the help of guidance in mediation for quite a while before they can do it unassisted.
