Tell us about yourself & your interest in prison dharma: (answer required) .
I interned at a youth detention center in Manchester, NH. In observing the services offered, I noticed that the children were not taught the tools to get relief from their traumas and addictions. There was individual counseling and groups but mindfulness, meditation, and emotional education were missing as a means to keep oneself from being triggered in that environment or life in general. I am putting together some workshops to help kids with emotional and behavioral issues. I want to eventually take it into group homes and the detention facility.
