Tell us about yourself & your interest in prison dharma: (answer required) .
I live in the Santa Cruz Mountains and work at Sacred Heart Community Service in San Jose.
I work with the homeless, the community and volunteers to provide food for 450 families a day. I also have the great privilege of leading five Calworks employees. They work 40 hour weeks for one month feeding the hungry. The goal of the program is to teach basic work skills, confront self defeating beliefs and to teach the importance of treating all people with dignity compassion and respect and that the first step is to treat themselves that way.
I'm also involved in the Wellbriety Movement,AA and harm reduction programs for our homeless populations in and out of prisons. I do street outreach and volunteer at the Santa Cruz Water Street Prison. I'm committed to holding space for , listening to and advocating for our marginalized community members.
