So we started another program. That's right. Another one. It's kind of funny to me actually - I work here and can hardly keep up with all we are doing! So, this class is a pilot pre-release program for guys who are getting out within the next 2-3 months. It's pretty amazing. They not only get to go though an accelerated…

Shalom

Hi Fleet,

I saw the Auschwitz retreat featured on Peacemaker site, but don't see it here. Maybe pdn community would be interested, too.

There are some people in Zen community and Jewish meditation groups here who might be interested. I'll recommend.

I hope you're well!

Hello

I have not been active on this site at all and am only now seeing what was posted for me. To answer your question. Yes, I am loosely connected to Karme Choling in Barnet, VT. I have been up there for a few workshops. Do you know Donna Williams? She mentioned your name when I was talking about the street retreats.

Hey! I'm finally getting around to responding to my mail. Thanks for the welcoming note.......the picture of the prisoners crowded into the gym is disgusting.........Humane treatment is almost a lost art---let's work to bring it back! If you have ideas of what I could do, let me know. I've heard that the racism in NC where I live is still rampant. Any suggestions?

Hi Fleet,
I am corresponding with a Death Row inmate...helped him compose his artwork and poetry into a book.
QUESTION: Will publishing a book for him possibly bring publicity that would create more publicity and hasten his execution? Just wondering about the political issues, victim's rights groups, and such....seeing a book published, and pushing harder on their end. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Jill

Hi Fleet:
Thanks for your note. I was fired from my position as administrator of a medium security prison primary for my activities in implementing the Impact Project at the prison. This after a career of 35 yrs. as a prison psychologist and then administrator. I am now going through a process of dealing with the misconduct charges created against me that have blocked me from getting my pension. I have started writing a book on ending prisons and creating a transformational approach to changing behavior. I am teaching a meditation class in my community and meditation was a key part of the Impact Project. I am wondering whether you would be interested in collaborating with me on this project. A former warden/psychologist, and a former inmate/meditation teacher would be a good combination I think. I could also use your support in dealing with getting this book done sooner rather than later, which is difficult while dealing with the aftermath of having my career and reputation destroyed. Perhaps we could talk via phone, or communicate further via my personal email: dr.d.parrish@gmail.com. I would also like to look at how I can contribute and or participate in the evolution of your organization and the development of a national conversation to end prisons, now that I am out of the system. My phone is 610-329-6755.

Hi! I've only just arrived in Louisville and am about to move into my new house so am very busy and pretty exhausted. But I'm really pleased to have found your network (it was mentioned in a letter in the Boulder Camera yesterday). I will be in touch after I've settled in more and regain some energy. Thanks for contacting me!
