I AM A PRACTICING BUDDHIST AND A SINGLE MOTHER. I HAVE STRUGGLED WITH RAISING TWO TEENAGE BOYS, WHO ARE NOW YOUNG ADULTS. WE DEALT WITH ISSUES OF DRUGS, ALCOHOL & INCARCERATION. AS A YOUNG ADULT I WAS MARRIED TO THE BOYS FATHER WHO WAS INCARCERATED FOR THE FIRST TWO YEARS OF MY SONS LIFE. I WOULD LIKE TO BECOME MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT DHARMA IN PRISON, ESPECIALLY WITHIN THE Y A SYSTEM.

So glad you found us! This is a wonderful online community that we hope serves you. We'd love for you to post a picture of yourself as well, it helps others to see they are communicating with real humans!

What Buddhist tradition do you practice in? Where do you live?

We have one of our own great webinars coming up, that you may be interested in called "The Path to Freedom." Its a course for those who are interested in working with prison populations and youth and also just in general in our lives. I've taken it 3 times already and I highly recommend it!
