My experience as a member of a Zen Centers Prison Project has morphed into 5 yrs. of work with Restorative Justice as an alternative to juvenile detention.
I continue to be informed by the time i spent meditating and in Council with incarcerated women, and am always interested in evolving methods of working with suffering, conflict, death and dying and the healing power of human relationships.
In particular, prison work and participation in the Peacemakeers Retreat at Auschwitz informed me in the deepest way that our innate human kindness can indeed be practiced independent of physical conditions, transcending environments and creating space for peace to experienced.
