Inspiring Stories of Prisoner Action above and beyond

Did you ever find yourself in a situation where circumstances and an inner stirring moved you to action in a way beyond your every day response?

 

I would be interested in hearing your story because that is in my opinion one way the dharma moves us beyond our conditioned responses.

Prison Abolition: May No One Be Caged

Prison abolition is a movement of human rights. All human rights movements seek freedom; a freedom from oppression and subjugation. And since Buddhism isn't nihilism it acts in accord, and manifests like medicine. A Buddhist movement for the abolition of prisons, should engage with the whole system to break down the entire prison industrial complex (courts, police, and prison profiteers).
