Volunteer opening for teaching every other Monday morning at Suffolk County House of Correction

Hello, I’ve been teaching meditation as a volunteer at the Suffolk County House of Correction for 15 years, and I love doing it. It’s one of the longest-running and most successful classes at the Jail. The program is every Monday morning from 10 to 11am (except holidays). It’s very rewarding work.

Anyone in the LA area interested in helping a Buddhist group at the state prison in Lancaster, CA?

My penpal friend, a lifer, doing his time in Lancaster State prison, wrote me:



"We have a Buddhist program at this prison, but, we don't have any Buddhist sponsors to come into the prison and teach us. So, if the Dharmanetwork can have some contact with a Buddhist practitioner from the Los Angeles, Lancaster or Bakersfield area; this way, we can ask them to volunteer a day ( once a week) inside of the prison.
