Thank you, David, for reaching out.  Our worldviews are always changing based on our growing experiences.  There are many paths up the mountain, I am glad ours have crossed.  My past also includes a Christian spiritual walk.  I cherish that experience as it helped develope a pluralistic view of the path I am now on.  If you have an interest, I am always open to a Skype dialogue, in fact, most of my teaching is now done online.  I extend my blessing.

Hospice work is very rewarding, not tough at all. It is part of the bodhisattva path of helping others, which is important in the Mahayana tradition. The cell Buddha is my special project for the Buddhist Chaplaincy Training Program I will have completed by mid-July. Christians get to have Jesus or Mary on their cell walls. A prisoner at Huntingdon (PA) SCI drew a buddha, which I am sending to the 20 inmates on my mailing list. They will be able to put it on their cell walls, then set it up for their meditation, chanting, etc. Please go to www.zencare.org for more info on the program. How long you been out? Congratulations on regaining your freedom.
